SCIT (Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology) is an IT b-school in Pune, India. It operated under the aegis of Symbiosis International University, offering postgraduate IT-Business education. SCIT is a constituent of Symbiosis International University (SIU), formerly Symbiosys International Education Centre. It is a part of the Symbiosis Society of institutes.

SCIT has obtained AICTE approval and NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) accreditation.(B+)

ITBM is a techno-managerial course that is geared towards areas like marketing and business development in the IT industry.

The Systems programme includes inputs on business processes, software development processes, software quality, audits and domain knowledge.

The Information Systems & Security program consists of Business Processes, Information Flow, Risks associated with Information Assets etc. focuses on developing & implementing security solutions & policies for an enterprise to make itself secure.

The Network & IT Infrastructure program is about designing, engineering, integrating and implementing reliable & secure network solutions and managing & administering network and IT infrastructure using contemporary & proven technologies.

The Software Solutions & Management program provides design patterns and quality standards management practices to visualize the business perspective of the software industry.

Campus

SCIT is located in Pune Infotech Park, home to IT majors such as Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro etc. The campus is fully residential. It has separate hostels for boys and girls with well-equipped rooms. Mess facilities and cafeteria are provided. The campus also has a gymnasium and swimming pool. Healthcare facilities are provided on campus with a resident doctor, mini operation theater and a tie-up with a local hospital for emergency services.

There is also a 400-seater auditorium and an open-air amphitheater . The campus facilities include faculty housing and a guesthouse. The Campus has an Administrator, who manages maintenance of campus facilities such as security, garden, housekeeping, mess, STD booth etc. SCIT has its technical team that maintains its own labs and computers.

Infrastructure

*"Learning resources"All seven of SCIT's classrooms have network and Internet connectivity to facilitate presentations and demonstrations.

* "Multi-Platform labs"Three different platforms viz. Windows, Solaris and Linux are used in SCIT. The Solaris environment is implemented on Ultra-SPARC II Sun Servers and Sun-Ray 1 thin client appliances. There are a total of 120 computers in SCIT.

* "Proof of Concept lab"This is a lab to experiment with different technologies and products for simulating diverse environments. Students work on areas such as high performance networks, Network security, Intrusion Detection, Intrusion Prevention, Perimeter Security, wireless Security, Threat Management Systems etc.

* "Library"SCIT has library facilities with 5,000 books on technology and management and nearly 1500 CDs. The students have an access to nearly 20,000 books housed in the same building by sister institutes.
