materials=The Armenian Evangelical Martyrs' Church (Nahadagatz) is located in Soulemaniye quarter, Aleppo, Syria. In 1931 seventeen members together with their families of Aintab origin from (Hatsig) village came together and founded the church. The first pastor of the church was Rev. H. Chakmakjian. At the beginning, the congregation met in an ancient courtyard close to Salibe street, then it moved to a rented building which was known at that time as the Armenian Red Cross building in Suleymaniye street. In 1965, the church board decided to buy a piece of land and build its permanent sanctuary with the parsonage in Soulemaniye quarter. From the time of its foundation, the church has played great role in the formation of the Christian, moral and national character of hundreds of children, teenagers, youth and grown ups who attended its services. Nahadagatz Church is a member of Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East (UAECNE) and pastored by Rev. Vatche Ekmekjian since 2004 [http://www.amaa.org/AMAA%20Directory.pdf] .
