Lake Region has a long and varied athletic history. The school has produced many a championship, and has had continuous success in numerous sports. The most prominent of this is Basketball, where the school holds Boy's State Titles and has been to the Girls State Championship Game the past three years, losing each time. The Lakers most success comes in the sports of Skiing and Field Hockey. Skiing is the only Class A sport the school participates in. They have eleven Western Maine Conference Titles, and one Boy's State Championship. Field hockey also has eleven Western Maine Championships, and two State Championships. They produced the 2006 Track and Field Player of the Year, Miles Bartlett. Miles was a multiple Maine State Class B champion, along with his teammate Kevin Floster. Lake Region also produced James Oberg, an All State Football Player in 2003 and a National Football Foundation Hall of Famer for the State of Maine. Their mascot is King Neptune."'
Fine Arts
Lake Region High School is known for its fine band, chorus, dance, and visual arts department, all of which are featured during the school's Arts Festival during the fourth week of May.
