Jon Poole (born 16th October 1969 in Hemel Hempstead) is a British multi instrumentalist best known for his work with the bands
Cardiacs andThe Wildhearts . He began his career with the Cangles Close Crew producing such works as "The Beano" and "Softy Walter" in the Moorland Road Studio with fellow band member Rob Flowers It was in this period that his love for Adam and the Ants and Tiger Feet began. After a move to Milton Keynes he wrote and performed in his first proper band Ad Nauseam, alongside Bob Leith, who would later become drummer forCardiacs . Jon Poole joined Cardiacs in 1991, replacing Christian 'Bic' Hayes. Meanwhile he continued his solo projects, such as his tribute toZappa , entitled Mothers Covers (later renamed 'What's the Ugliest Part of your Body?'). He also played with Ablemesh, re-inventing many of their songs. He left Cardiacs in 2003 to joinThe Wildhearts as part of their live band, and was replaced by Karvus Torabi. After leaving The Wildhearts in 2004, he joined the bandGod Damn Whores , although he regularly plays as part of Ginger's bandGinger & The Sonic Circus .He currently lives in Brighton with his wife Louise, and is writing for the next God Damn Whores album that is rumored to be released min 2009.
