"The Solution" is a song by Yes. It appeared on the unpopular 1997 Open Your Eyes album as the last track. The song itself was never played live, but the opening ambiance track opened every show of album's tour [ [http://forgottenyesterdays.com/search.asp?mType=7&q=3&sType=2&stime=0&searchq=Open%20Your%20Eyes%20Ambiance%20Track&alltime=00/00/0000&tname=1&SortBy=tDate&so=asc&memid=0&ssub=0&graphictype=0 Forgotten Yesterdays] Yes tour log, retrieved February 4, 2007.] , followed by Rhythm of Love. It did not see a single issue. [ [http://yesworld.com/galdissing.html Yesworld] Yes official site, retrieved February 4, 2007.]

On the album

The song is the last track on the disc. While the track's index lasts for 23:47, the song itself is only 5:26. The remainder of the index is consumed by an atmospheric track consisting of 16:21 of nature sounds and clippings of vocals from each track.

Alternate issues of the album

urround sound

When the album was first released, a surround sound edition was available which excluded the ambiance track. [ [http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:2n2uakokjm3v All Music Guide review] , retrieved February 4, 2007.]

Japanese issue

The Japanese issue of the album also includes this ambiance track [ [http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:0x6jtr2tkl1x All Music Guide review] of Japanese version, retrieved February 4, 2007.] , despite the increased length caused by the awkward addition of the radio edit of "Open Your Eyes" before this song and after "Somehow, Someday".

In the live setting

Main song

The main song was never played live.

Ambiance track

The ambiance track found at the end of the song was played as the opening to just short of every show on the Open Your Eyes tour, but nowhere else.
