Archbishop Carroll High School is a secondary school that is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia. It is located in Radnor, Pennsylvania, in the United States.

History

Opened in September, 1967 and officially dedicated and blessed on April 28, 1968, Archbishop John Carroll High School for Boys and Archbishop John Carroll High School for Girls were the final secondary schools under the building program instituted by John Cardinal Krol. The schools were named for John Carroll, the first bishop of the Catholic Church in the United States. They became one in September 1986. Archbishop John Carroll High School is staffed by diocesan priests, Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Sisters of St. Joseph and lay personnel. Presently the student body numbers approximately 900.

Archbishop John Carroll High School, a co-educational secondary school within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, is committed to excellence in the areas of spiritual, academic, and social development. By guiding our students in the development of their goals within the context of a meaningful relationship with God, others, and self, we challenge them to responsible stewardship in the world. With Christ as our model, the school accomplishes this challenge through the dedication of a professional staff who educate the students by implementing innovative and competitive methodologies.

Athletics

Carroll athletic teams compete in the Philadelphia Catholic League and belong to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association [http://www.piaa.org PIAA] .
