Yuri Felshtinsky (b. 1956,
Moscow ) is aRussia nhistorian living inUnited States . He immigrated into the USA from the Soviet Union in 1978. He graduated fromBrandeis University and got hisPhD inhistory fromRutgers University . In 1993, he also defended hisDoctor of Science thesis at the Institute of Russian History of theRussian Academy of Sciences , Moscow. Felshtinsky authored several books on modern Russian and early Soviet history, includingBlowing up Russia withAlexander Litvinenko and "The Age of Assassins" withVladimir Pribylovsky [http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/books/article3503559.ece] .He published a number of books on history of the
Communist movement. In a book "Leaders the mobsters" he describedBolshevik party as a mafia-like organization where "almost no one died by a natural cause", based on hundreds of primary and secondary sources.
