homepage = http://www.seton-school.orgSeton is an accredited, private, co-educational, Catholic junior & senior high school. Seton teaches orthodox, traditional Catholicism, in harmony with the
Magisterium of the Catholic Church and its leader,Pope Benedict XVI . Furthermore, the entire curriculum at Seton is grounded on a Christian understanding of the world and of the human person. In addition, the education experience at Seton emphasizes providing individual attention to the student, meeting and exceeding high academic standards, and holding students to high standards of conduct. These are coupled with close cooperation with parents, a family atmosphere, and making a variety of activities available to all students.History of the School
What would become Seton High School was started by Dr. Anne Carroll in
1973 and called the Christian Commonwealth School. In1975 , Carroll moved the school from Warrenton to Manassas, Virginia and renamed it for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton who was canonized that year. From the sixteen first students of Seton, the school continued to grow. [Flach, Michael. AccessedApril 30 ,2008 ] In1982 , the Seton Home Study program began. This program eventually became its own entity, known asSeton Home Study School . The enrollment of Seton High School finally reached the hundred student mark in1989 . After purchasing church buildings in1980 at the present location of the campus, a number of additional expansions allowed the school to continue its growth. After the dedication of the St. Joseph's wing of the school in1992 , enrollment increased from 135 to 186 students. Later expansions include theJohn Paul II Center which was opened in1994 , the Our Lady of the Rosary wing (1995 ), and the Corpus Christi Center (2006 ). Currently the school has reached its capacity enrollment of approximately 350.
