Wilkinson began her career at a young age, working for "
Dolly Magazine ". At age 21, she became the youngest ever editor of the magazine. After four years and almost tripling circulation she was then appointed Editor of Cleo Magazine and went on to become International Editor-in-Chief.Her television career began in the late 1990's, when she was a regular panelist on
Network Ten andFoxtel 's "Beauty and the Beast". During the2000 Summer Olympics , she (along withDuncan Armstrong ) co-hosted "The Morning Shift" on theSeven Network .In 2005, she began hosting "Weekend Sunrise".
On Sunday,
6 May 2007 , it was revealed Wilkinson was in talks withNine Network on hosting "Today" afterJessica Rowe left the network.On
10 May 2007 , it was confirmed that Wilkinson was to co-anchor the "Today" show. Her last appearance on "Weekend Sunrise" was Sunday6 May 2007 which was her last time on the Seven Network.Samantha Armytage replaced Wilkinson on "Weekend Sunrise".
