WAVES is the annual cultural festival of BITS, Pilani - Goa Campus. It is a 3 day extravaganza with a diverse range of events catering to almost all talents. Beside competitions, there are also performances by celebrities and a general carnival-like atmosphere. Since its inception in 2005, the festival has grown from strength to strength. While WAVES ‘05 was an Intra-college festival, the very next year WAVES ‘06 grew to be a state level festival, and in 2007 became the biggest cultural festival in Goa. WAVES ‘08 was a massive, national-level event. With more than 20 colleges from across the country and a budget of over 15 Lakhs, WAVES made its mark as a national festival to be reckoned with.

WAVES ’05

: WAVES ’05 was an intra-college cultural festival with the hostels competing in various events. Since then, the intra-college festival has been rechristened “Zephyr” while WAVES has become an inter-college festival.

WAVES ’06

:In the second year of its institution, WAVES transformed into an inter-college festival with colleges from Goa attending the festival for the first time. The sponsors for the festival included Coca Cola, BPL Mobile, Nokia, State Bank of India and Sai Services.

WAVES ’07: Urban Chaos

WAVES '07 was the biggest cultural festival in Goa, held from the 9th to 11th of March, 2007. Colleges from all over Goa came in great numbers to participate in the biggest inter-college cultural extravaganza the state had seen. The average daily attendance was 4000, with around 2000 people from Goa. Going with a theme for the first time, WAVES '07 went under the tagline of "Urban Chaos".WAVES '07 comprised of 37 events from a variety of categories namely Literature, Music, Dance, Drama, and Fine Arts. There were also other miscellaneous events like Dumb Charades, . Along with these events, the festival included special events such as Mr. and Ms. WAVES and the Fashion Parade. WAVES ’07 featured guest performances by Professional Artists from around the country including DJ Sasha from Bangalore, Bhayanak Maut (finalists of Channel V Launch Pad) from Mumbai, MotherJane from Cochin and the MTV Roadies. Prizes worth 2,00,000 were given out. Hutch was the Title Sponsor for WAVES '07. With Radio Mirchi as an Associate Sponsor, Nirvana as an Apparel Partner, INOX as an Outdoor Publicity Partner and Gati as a Logistics Partner, and other sponsors such as State Bank of India and ITC, the festival had an assortment of companies as its sponsors.

WAVES ’08: Nirvana - The State Of Statelessness

WAVES ‘08 was the latest instalment of the cultural festival of BITS, Pilani - Goa campus. Launched and held on a truly grand scale, the event was held from the 6th to the 8th of March, 2008. The average daily footfall was around 5000. The theme of the festival, “Nirvana – The State of Statelessness” was reflected in all the events of the festival.The events were numerous and diverse and covered almost all forms of creativity and talent between them. They were divided into the following categories-
* MUSIC- Included Solo Singing, Group Singing, Indian Rock, Western Acoustic, Classical Singing, and Guitar Wars.
* DRAMA- Included Ultimate Drama Challenge (an event where you had to act as well as innovate), Mock Talk Show, Street Play, Musical Drama and Mime competitions.
* LITERARY- Included Virtual Courtroom, Writing, Radio Jockey competition, Extempore Speaking, JAM (just-a-minute) and Jargon (Word Games).
* FINE ARTS - A Blind Art competition, Thermocol Carving, Apparel Design and Art Merging competition.
* DANCE- Included Solo Dance, Thematic Dance, Couple Dance and a Group Dance.
* MISCELLANEOUS- These were numerous and included Dumb Charades, Remix competition, General Knowledge Quiz, Sports and Entertainment Quiz, a Photography event, a Journalism event.
* SHOWCASE EVENTS - These were the highlight events for each of the days and drew enormous crowds. They were Mr and Ms Waves, Fashion Parade and Natyanjali (a dance event).

Apart from the competitions, there were special events held on each of the three nights of WAVES 08. These were platforms where professionals and celebrities could perform and compete. Each of the three events was a pulsating and fitting end to each of the three days of WAVES. These special events were -
* SEA ROCK - This was held on the first night of WAVES. It was a competition between some of the best semi-professional Rock bands in the country for superiority. With prizes were worth Rs. 60,000 each of the bands proved their worth by playing some truly mind-blowing music.
* DJ NITE- Held on the second night of waves, this was a chance for all the participants to lose themselves in a blur of music and lights, and dance their heart out. With DJ NIKHIL CHINAPPA doing what he does best, this was a truly memorable night of dance and fun.
* PRO NITE- The final and most eagerly awaited event of WAVES ’08. This was a Rock show where two of the best professional bands in the country, EVERGREEN and JUNKYARD GROOVE performed. The event drew huge crowds and the final night of WAVES ‘08 was punctuated by some scintillating music.

WAVES ’08 had 9X Media as its associate sponsor. The Festival Partners included INOX as the Media Partner, Radio Mirchi as the Radio Partner, PayMate as the Prize Partner, Spykar as the Vogue Partners, JAMMAG as Yo'uth Partners and USI as Environment Partners. Along with these, WAVES ’08 boasted of an illustrious list of Sponsors such as PepsiCo, Dell, Faber Castell, Cream Bell, IMSand Life Insurance Corporation of India.
