Star Radio is an independent local radio station broadcasting to Weston-super-Mare and North Somerset in the United Kingdom. The station plays mainly Adult Contemporary music, with a mix of both current and classic hits. It's studios are on Beaconsfield Road in the centre of Weston-super-Mare.
It was launched as 107.7 WFM in 1999 [http://www.ukrd.com/news/news2_18032002.html] and later rebranded by new owners UKRD as a way of recognition of its existing Star brand. The station was then known as Star 107.7 before a further minor rebrand to its current name.
It shares its name with several other UKRD owned stations in the nearby area, the next closest being Star Radio (Bristol), which has a significant coverage overlap with the Weston-based station in the Clevedon and Portishead areas.
