Melrose Township is one of twenty-two townships in Adams County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2000 census, its population was 6,305.[1] The north-western part of the township has been separated into Quincy Township.

According to the United States Census Bureau, Melrose Township covers an area of 47.6 square miles (123 km2); of this, 1.86 square miles (4.8 km2) or 3.91 percent is water.
