John Matsko

John Matsko

John Matsko (born February 2, 1951 in Cleveland) is a former collegiate football player and collegiate/professional coach, most recently serving as the offensive line coach for the National Football League Baltimore Ravens.

Coaching career

John Matsko is the offensive line coach for the Baltimore Ravens. He was hired on January 31, 2008 to work under offensive coordinator Cam Cameron and head coach John Harbaugh. Prior to being hired in Baltimore, Matsko held the same position for the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2006 and 2007 seasons. Prior to that, Matsko coached professionally for the Cardinals, Saints, N.Y. Giants, and Rams.

Matsko coached at the college football level at Kent State, Miami (Ohio), North Carolina, Navy, Arizona and USC.

College career

Matsko played at Kent State University.

John Matsko's oldest son, John Jr., is the Director of Development for the Mountaineer Athletic Club at West Virginia University. Previously, John Jr. was the Assistant Director for Development in the athletic department at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP)and Special Assistant for the Athletic Director at the University of Kansas. John Jr. has an undergraduate degree in finance from LSU and a master's degree in sports administration from the University of Kansas. John Jr. is also regarded as one of the finest young fundraisers in the country. John Matsko's youngest son, Mike Matsko, played as a linebacker for the University of Missouri from 2004-2006. Mike was a 2nd-Team All-Conference performer at linebacker as a senior for Wentzville, notching 76 total tackles, with 1 sack, 1 interception and 1 fumble recovery ... Played cornerback as a junior, and had 37 tackles.
