The Chicago, Danville and Vincennes Railroad was a railroad established in 1865 that served various communities along the eastern border of Illinois. It was consolidated into the Chicago and Eastern Illinois Railroad in 1877.
A branch of this railroad known as the Pumpkin Vine Railroad was built in 1872 from Bismarck, Illinois southeast through Warren County, Indiana and through Covington, Indiana to reach coal mines south of that town.
