Overview

On August 26th, 2008, Beallsville High School will begin its 80th year in the same building.Beallsville High School opened at its present location in September of 1928. The 3 story section is the original part. In September 1955, an addition opened. This is the 2 story section that is attached to the original structure. This part also includes the library, Home Economic room, the Science Labs, the Art Lab, the basketball arena, the stage, the lobby, the coaches office (which was the band room until 1965), and the locker rooms. The original 1928 basketball arena on the 2nd floor of the original structure was turned into the cafeteria. The original 1928 stage is now the kitchen. In September 1965, the grade school was opened at the same site. Previously, it was in downtown Beallsville at the Convenient Food Mart site (not the same building). The grade school is attached to the high school. This means that from the time a student enters kindergarten, he or she will stay in the same building for their entire schooling. By 1970, the schoolhouse was filled to capacity. In September 1970, a portable building was brought in to house the kindergarten and 4th grade classes. This building is still there as of September 2008. A few years ago, a new roof was put on the portable building. A new paint job for that building was completed in June 2008. Beallsville Blue Devils' football team has won 24 straight regular season games as of 9-12-2008. Their head coach is Dave Caldwell. He is a 1973 graduate of Beallsville. He came back to his alma mater in 1981 to teach and to be an assistant coach for the gridiron team. In 1982, Caldwell was promoted to head coach.

Blue Devil stadium was built in 1955 after the construction of the high school addition took its former locale. Blue Devil Stadium consists of a baseball field and football field. Blue Devil Stadium got lights in time for the 1956 season. In 2006, the stadium got 4 new light poles with 10 lights each. The old lights (with the exception of 4 stanchions) still work and are turned on to make the stadium one of the brightest in the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference.

As of September 2008, the boys and girls bathrooms in the 1955 addition has been completely remodeled. Also, the windows that face State Route 145 in the 1955 addition has been totally replaced.
