Mohammad Ali Sepanlou (born in Tehran 1941) is an Iranian poet[1] and literary critic.[2] He has been a co-founder, a member of the executive board,[3] and editor of the journal[4] of the Writers Association of Iran, in which capacity has opposed both the former regime of Shah Mohammad-Rezā Shāh Pahlavi[3] and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, speaking out against censorship.[1]
Sepanlou received his diploma from Dar ul-Funun high school. He graduated from Tehran University’s Faculty of Law in 1963. He is the father of singer Shahrzad Sepanlou.[5]
