Puli (zh-tpwp|t=埔里鎮|p=Pǔlǐ zhèn|w=P'u³-li³ chen⁴|poj=Po·-lí tìn) is an urban township in Nantou County, Taiwan. It is the geographic center of Taiwan.

In the 19th century the city was known as Posia (埔社) or Polisia (埔裏社). The Atayal name of the settlement was Sabaha Bakalas, meaning "house of stars". [http://staff.whsh.tc.edu.tw/~huanyin/tw_teaching_309.htm]

One of the main economic activities in Puli is tourism; this is because it is located in the mountainous center of Taiwan, and many tourist destination spots are located near this township. The most well-known is Sun Moon Lake, only a 30-minute drive from Puli. There is also a nationally owned brewery, as well as the largest Buddhist temple in Nantou County.

In 1999, this town was struck hard by the 921 earthquake.

Education

National Chi Nan University is a 15-minute drive from the town center.
