José Manuel Velásquez Castillo (born June 4 1954 in Lima) is a retired football defender from Peru.
Velásquez played for the Peru team that won the Copa América in 1975, [ [http://www.rsssf.com/tables/75safull.html rsssf: Copa América 1975] ] he also competed for the Peru national football team at the 1978 and 1982 FIFA World Cup, wearing the number six jersey. At club level he played for Alianza Lima in Peru, where he was part of three league campionship winning campaigns (1975, 1977 & 1978). He also played for Independiente Medellin of Colombia and Hércules CF of Spain.
