Mkhitar Heratsi (Armenian: Մխիթար Հերացի) was an Armenian physician of the 12th century, the father of Armenian medicine, the author of famous "Relief of Fevers" tractate, a cyclopedic work in which he discussed, among other subjects, surgery, diet and psychotherapy. Yerevan State Medical University is named after M. Heratsi. The most prominent students of YSMU are awarded with "Mkhitar Heratsi scholarship".
