Tim Carney is a fictional character on the soap opera "Fair City".

Tim is Leo Dowling's childhood friend and business partner. He is married to a Russian lady named Olga. Their marriage was arranged over the internet. Tim is very domineering over Olga. Leo's wife Lana suspected that Olga was unhappy. When Olga and Sergei, Lana's brother, started a friendship, Tim became paranoid that they were having an affair. Sergei constantly coming over to the house made Tim even more paranoid. Tim has warned Sergei off many times, and as a result Tim has gained a catchphrase for himself. He can often be heard shouting "Stay away from my wife!" at various men, but most notably Sergei. Sergei was worried about Olga and telephoned her several times, but Tim picked up the phone instead and Sergei hung up. Tim installed a caller ID device on his phone to find out who is the anonymous caller.

When Tim discovered that Sergei was making the anonymous calls, he told Leo to warn Sergei to stay away. To prevent Sergei from contacting Olga ever again, Tim disconnected the telephone line. When Tim's nephew Declan arrived in Carrigstown for Christmas, Tim told him to accompany Olga whenever she left the house. Tim told a shocked Olga of his plans to buy another house away from Carrigstown so Olga will be away from Sergei. When Declan left his mobile phone in a room, Olga used it to call Lana for help. Although Lana and Sergei suspected that Olga was now a prisoner in her own home, Leo's main concern was about his business, but he eventually decided to help them rescue her.

When Leo tricked Tim into going to the McCoys, Lana went to see Olga. As Lana and Olga prepared to leave, Declan attempted to stop them. When Tim returned to his house, Declan told him that he didn't want to get involved with any disputes and subsequently left Carrigstown. Furious that Olga had left his house, Tim went over to Leo's house and demanded to see Olga. When Leo refused, Tim spent the night in his car and got drunk. On Christmas Day, Tim shouted at Leo to let him in. When the shouting continued for hours, Leo had enough of Tim's yelling and contacted the Gardaí. The police took a drunken Tim away. The next day, Leo was shocked to see the state of Tim and his house. Tim revealed to Leo the origin of his marriage to Olga. When Tim promised that he wouldn't treat his wife badly ever again, Olga felt sorry for her husband, so she decided to go back to his house, much to Tim's delight.
