Plot

Zé do Caixão returns to his village after recovering in a hospital from shock and blindness from the events in the previous film. Having been absolved of his previous crimes and murders, this time he is even more determined to find the "perfect" woman with whom to sire a son of superior lineage, for his singular, obsessive desire for the "continuity of blood". Assisted by his gaunt, hunchbacked, facially disfigured servant Bruno, Zé kidnaps six beautiful women the first night he returns to town. He puts them through a series of sadistic trials to determine if one of them exhibits no fear, indicating superiority to bear his son. When the woman named Laura remains proudly unaffected while the others scream and beg to the terrors they are submitted into, Zé retains her as his chosen and imprisons the other five in a pit below his bedroom, where he releases poisonous snakes to kill them.

However, for his shock and horror, Zé learns that one of the women that were attacked by the snakes was pregnant. Feeling guilty for have killed an unborn child, Zé eventually has a horrible nightmare where is he dragged to Hell and forced to watch visions of people being tortured. He sees the Devil, who surprisingly has a strong resemblence with him. But after the nightmare is over, Zé remarks his beliefs strongly, claiming what he is doing is not wrong.

Meanwhile, the villagers have discovered the bodies of Zé's new victims and go after him. At the same time Laura's father, who happens to be a powerful rich colonel, sends his thugs to kill Zé. Zé manages to beat the thugs, but is surrounded by the villagers. He tries to escape but ends up falling in a quicksand. In the movie's last and shocking scene, the local priest approaches Zé and begs him to accept God so his soul will be saved, but Zé rejects it, screaming he doesn't believe in God as the quicksand consumes his body (In the theatrical version of the movie, this part changes with Zé accepting God as his savior. This was made due of the censors at the time thought the last line was too offensive.).
