Beth-nimrah

Beth-nimrah

Beth-Nimrah (Hebrew: בית נמרה‎) was a town in ancient Israel.

The town was located east of Jordan River and was assigned to the Tribe of Gad.[1] It is described as "in the low plain".[citation needed] The name is preserved in the names Tel Nimrin and Wadi Nimrin, but the location of the old town is believed to be at Tel Bleibil.[citation needed] In the Book of Joshua it was said to belong to the kingdom of Sihon.[2]
