Def-Logic

Def-Logic

Def-Logic is an independent videogame developer based in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was established by Brent Silby in 2001. Their games are notable for being produced entirely in DHTML (a combination of css and javascript), which is relatively uncommon--especially for the arcade action style games that Def-Logic produces. Def-Logic games are 2d sprite based and are played primarily online within a web-browser. Their games are designed to be simple with minimalist graphics. Rather than remaking classic arcade games, Def-Logic creates new games based on the traditional arcade formula.

From 2005-2007 Def-Logic's games were converted to Adobe Flash. This conversion was carried out by Steven Linton and provided the company with more licensing opportunities, as the single file Flash games are integrated into game sites with greater ease than the dhtml versions. The original dhtml versions remain on the company's website along with the Flash ports. Def-Logic now produces games in both Flash and dhtml formats.

Def-Logic is a member of the New Zealand Game Developer's Association.
