Both Zambian athletes ended their Olympic competition after their opening round.

Men's 800 metres:
* Prince Mumba
** Round 1: 1:48.36 (6th in heat 9, did not advance, 55th overall)

Women's 100 metres:
* Carol Mokola
** Round 1: 12.35 s (7th in heat 8, did not advance, 51st overall)


=Boxing=

Davis Mwale qualified at the 2003 All-Africa Games in Abuja, while Ellis Chibuye qualified at the African Boxing Championships in Botswana, but neither survived the first round in the Olympic Games.
