Richard Nesbitt spent his elementary years going to a one-room schoolhouse located outside of the small town of Seaforth, Ontario. He attended middle school in Timmins, Ontario, and Central High School, located in Stratford, Ontario. Nesbitt holds an M.Sc. in Accounting and Finance from the
London School of Economics and Political Science , an MBA from theUniversity of Toronto , and a B.A.(Honours) in Business Administration from TheUniversity of Western Ontario Richard Ivey School of Business .Past work
Nesbitt joined TSX Group in 2001. Earlier, he worked as President and Chief Operating Officer of BayStreetDirect Inc., an Internet-based investment dealer. Before that Nesbitt was President and Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Securities Canada for three years, after having worked for ten years at CIBC Wood Gundy. He also worked for Mobil Oil Canada Ltd., and spent two years as a lecturer at The University of Western Ontario,
