The Stones River Mall is an enclosed regional shopping mall in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA.

History

The first store to open at Stones River Mall was Sears, which opened in 1990; two years later, the mall was opened. [ [http://web.archive.org/web/20050408191605/http://www.nashvilletv.org/commercials.htm NashvilleTV.org Commercials] ] Upon opening, the mall featured Sears, Wal-Mart and JCPenney as its other anchors. Wal-Mart moved out of the mall in 1995 and was replaced with Castner Knott, which was later acquired by Dillard's in 1998. Currently, the mall is undergoing renovation. JCPenney and Dillard's have opened new stores. The former Dillard's has been demolished and a lifestyle center portion has opened, while the original JCPenney is currently vacant. The mall will also receive a new food court (a previous food court in the mall had been abandoned).
