=Athletics=

Begliyev did well to beat two of his opponents in his heat by more than a second, while Pessova's two legal jumps were the shortest of the competition.

Turkmenistan sent two boxers to Athens. One lost his first match, while Bashirov beat the European Championship bronze medalist by one of the widest margins in the division, before being defeated in his second bout by Val Barker Trophy winner Bakhtiyar Artayev.

=Shooting=

Pirekeev was Turkmenistan's most successful athlete in the Games, as he was one of only four athletes to hid 399 out of 400 in the prone section of the 3 Positions event, and finished just a single shot short of qualifying for the Prone final.

Men's 50 metre Rifle 3 Positions:
* Igor Pirekeev: 1156 points(399 Prone, 376 Standing, 383 Kneeling) (T-22nd overall, did not advance)

Men's 50 metre Rifle Prone:

Rojkova finished last in her event, while Hojamamedov finished ahead of 11 other swimmers.
