The 2002 formation of Bloodsimple (originally going by the name Fix 8) featured
Vision of Disorder members vocalist Tim Williams and guitarist Mike Kennedy, along with ex-Piece Dogs,Skrew , and Medication bassist Kyle Sanders,Downset , Crowbar, and Deadbolt credited drummer Chris Hamilton.Bloodsimple opened New York shows for
Superjoint Ritual in early May 2004. The band signed to Bullygoat Records, the label founded by Chad Gray, vocalist forMudvayne andHellyeah , June. The debut record, entitled "A Cruel World ", was recorded in Vancouver, Canada with producer Garth Richardson. Initial live promotion saw the band partnered withOtep ,American Head Charge andCandiria for the 'Alliance of Defiance' U.S. tour commencing in late February. Summer 2005 U.S. touring had the band partnered withAmerican Head Charge andStatic-X in June. The group then teamed up with Byzantine,Gizmachi and headliners Six Feet Under for further U.S. "Masters of Brutality" dates announced as commencing in July. However, this trek would be postponed. Gigs throughout October and November saw the band packaged withThrowdown ,Soulfly and Arizona'sIncite .On September 24, Bloodsimple's concert at Club Voltage in
Levittown, New York included an unannounced reunion set byVision Of Disorder , the former act of singer Tim Williams and guitarist Mike Kennedy. Bloodsimple opened live campaigning in 2006 by supportingDisturbed on a Jägermeister sponsored tour. March had the band scheduled for The Crusade III: Ascend Above the Ashes concerts in the U.K. andIreland alongsideGod Forbid and Trivium. Drummer Chris Hamilton left the group in May, forging a new bandSaint Caine in union with formerDropbox members vocalist / guitarist John Kosco and guitarist Joey Wilkinson and bassist John Eville.Drummer Brendon Cohen toured with Bloodsimple during the summer of 2006, resulting in 3/5's of
Vision Of Disorder 's old lineup playing a limited number of shows.Throughout the summer, Bloodsimple performed with
Stone Sour and the reformedAlice in Chains inEurope , including an appearance at theMetallica andKorn headlinedDownload festival inCastle Donington , U.K. on June 10. Working with producer Machine, the band recorded a cover version ofThe Doors "5 To 1" in December 2006.The band opened 2007 by joining Diecast and
Sevendust for a lengthy run of U.S. shows beginning on February 8 inFort Wayne, Indiana .Two days before the start of Family Values Tour, they got a call and were going to be on the second stage with
Twin Method andFive Finger Death Punch .Their long delayed second album, "Red Harvest" was released nationwide on October 30, 2007 through Bullygoat/
Reprise Records . It was produced by Machine, who had produced records for many successful acts such asEighteen Visions andLamb of God .They were on tour with

Trivia
* The name Bloodsimple comes from a term coined by detective novelist
Dashiell Hammett . The term apparently describes the addled, fearful mindset people are in after a prolonged immersion in violent situations. The term was coined in the novel "Red Harvest", which is also the title of Bloodsimple's second album.
