Guardian Abroad

Guardian Abroad

Guardian Abroad is a website from "The Guardian Weekly", part of Guardian Media Group. It was launched in October 2006 with the aim of providing an international community for expatriates of all nations and those considering relocating. It aims to ‘help you at each stage of your adventure; from the preparation and initial culture shock, to the longer-term issues you face when you have settled into your adopted country’.

There is a combination of practical resources, articles and anecdotes from all around the world, mixing professional writers and user-generated content, including a listing and review system for expat blogs. There are specific subject areas of: NGOs, Education, TEFL, Lifestyle, Family, Finance and Health. Plus on the lighter side games with an international theme – international city hangman, global news quiz and a picture quiz. Practical resources include an ask the expert facility and a currency converter.
