United States men's national soccer team season 2007

In 2007, the United States men's national soccer team will play several friendly matches and compete in the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup and the 2007 CONMEBOL Copa America. Bob Bradley was announced as interim head coach in December 2006.

United States vs. Denmark

On 2007-01-20, the United States has played 15 friendly matches against Denmark over a number of years and won each one by an average of 6.56 goals. The most recent was played at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Although both countries fielded their 'league sides,' consisting of players from MLS for the United States and the Superliga for Denmark, the match was classified as an 'A' international by the USSF.

Dennis Sorensen scored for Denmark in the 37th minute, but the United States equalized on a Landon Donovan penalty kick right before the half. It was Donovan's first national-team goal since July 2005, spanning 18 matches. Jonathan Bornstein and Kenny Cooper scored in the second half, off passes from Justin Mapp and Heath Pearce, respectively, to give the Americans the 3-1 victory.

It was the first victory as interim national team manager for Bob Bradley. Bornstein, Cooper, Bryan Namoff, and Kyle Beckerman all made their international debuts for the United States.

United States vs. Guatemala

On 2007-03-28, the United States played a friendly match against Guatemala at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas. It marked the first tie of 2007 and Bob Bradley's first tie with the national team.His son, Michael, got his first career start. Kasey Keller got his first start of the year and got his 97th cap and 46th shutout. Defenders Frank Simek and Jay DeMerit both earned their first caps.

United States vs. China

On 2007-06-02, the United States played an international friendly match against China at Spartan Stadium in San Jose, California. The U.S. jumped out to an early lead with Beasley slamming home his first-ever penalty kick for the USA in the 10th minute, the goal was the 13th of Beasley’s 63-game career. Just five minutes later, though, some sloppy defending got China right back into the game as centerback Zhang Yaokun pounced on a loose ball in the area and ripped an uncontested shot from 11 yards into the upper left corner of the goal. After peppering China with a 7-2 shot advantage in the final 45 minutes, the dam finally broke for the USA with back-to-back headed goals in the 75th and 79th minute.

United States vs. Guatemala

On 2007-06-07, the United States will open CONCACAF Gold Cup Group A play against Guatemala at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.

United States vs. Trinidad & Tobago

On 2007-06-09, the United States will play a CONCACAF Gold Cup Group A match against Trinidad & Tobago at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.

United States vs. El Salvador

On 2007-06-12, the United States will conclude CONCACAF Gold Cup Group A play against El Salvador at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Argentina vs. United States

On 2007-06-28, the United States will begin play in Group C of the Copa America against Argentina at the Estadio José Pachencho Romero in Maracaibo, Venezuela. It will be the United States' first Copa America match since 1995.

United States vs. Paraguay

On 2007-07-02, the United States will continue Copa America Group C play against Paraguay at the Estadio Agustín Tovar in Barinas, Venezuela.

Colombia vs. United States

On 2007-07-05, the United States will play its final Copa America Group C game against Colombia at the Estadio Metropolitano de Fútbol de Lara in Barquisimeto, Venezuela.
