"Powerslave" is the title track on fifth album by heavy metal band Iron Maiden. It is a tale about the demise of an Egyptian pharaoh. The use of Egyptian imagery, such as the eye of Horus, and allusions to mythology is allegorical for vocalist Bruce Dickinson's spiteful outlook on the music industry, and how their greed and disrespect for talent leads to their own demise.Fact|date=August 2007 On live performances of this song, Dickinson wears a theatrical mask. The first guitar solo is played by Adrian Smith, followed by a solo by Dave Murray.
