Steve Hughes

Steve Hughes is an Australian musician and stand-up comedian.

Originally becoming famous as the drummer for Australian thrash metal band Slaughter Lord, he later joined or formed several other musical acts such as Mortal Sin, Presto (Band) and Nazxul. Hughes began his comedy career, in the mid 90's with the open mic night at the Sydney Comedy Store quickly progressing through the amateur ranks to become one of Australia's premier and most sought comedy acts. During this time he was also called upon to provide his expertise in comedy and music as a host for MTV Australia. After his sucess on the Australian scene Hughes was keen to expand his horizons (and audience) and so moved to the UK in 2002 to begin his work in UK stand-up. Following successful Edinburgh festival appearances, Hughes has firmly established himself as a raconteur, basing much of his act around his heavy metal past.
