Hilda Ochoa-Brillembourg (ca.
1945 ) is aVenezuelan -born business woman and the current president andChief Executive Officer ofStrategic Investment Group (SIG), which designs and implementsinvestment strategies for individual andinstitutional investors . Mrs. Ochoa has been in the investment management field for over 25 years and founded the Strategic Investment Group in 1987. She leads SIG’s investment management operations and is ultimately responsible for the company's annual and long-term investment, business and financial results. She approves and oversees the execution of all strategic, financial, and operating plans and policies. SIG manages over
USD $35 billion for more than 400 investors in theAmericas , Europe, theMiddle East and Asia.Previous work experience
Mrs. Ochoa served in various capacities within the Pension Investment Division of the
World Bank , including as Chief Investment Officer until 1987, and continued as advisor to the World Bankpension assets as CEO of Strategic. She also served as asset and liability advisor to the World Bank. She has provided services to her native country astreasurer ofCA Luz Eléctrica de Venezuela , and as an independent financialconsultant for the Development Ministry ofVenezuela , the Foreign Relations Ministry of Venezuela, andGrupo Cisneros .Organizations where she serves on the board of directors
Mrs. Ochoa is the
managing director of Emerging Markets Management LLC. She is a member of the board of directors of theWorld Bank /International Monetary Fund Credit Union,General Mills ,Harvard Management Company , theMcGraw-Hill Companies ,National Symphony Orchestra theWashington Opera and is chairman of theYouth Orchestra of the Americas . Also, she is a member of the investment committee of the Rockefeller Family Fund and of the advisory committees of the Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, theHauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations atHarvard University , and Sun Trust-Asset Management Advisors. Mrs. Ochoa-Brillembourg is also a member of the Executive Committee ofSmall Enterprise Assistance Funds and acting Vice Chairman of theGroup of Fifty (G-50) at theCarnegie Endowment for International Peace . She has published articles in "Financial Analyst Journal" and "Pensions & Investments".
