Epping Rural District was a local government district in Essex, England from 1894 to 1955. [ [http://www.visionofbritain.org.uk/unit_page.jsp?u_id=10220415 Vision of Britain] - Epping RD ( [http://www.visionofbritain.org.uk/bound_map_page.jsp?first=true&u_id=10220415&c_id=10001043 historic map] )] It surrounded, but did not include, Epping.

The district was reduced to create the Chigwell Urban District. It was abolished in 1955 and its former area was split to create Harlow Urban District and Epping and Ongar Rural District.
