History
CD San Fernando was founded originally by a Cantabrian immigrant, as a merger of three teams from the city: San Fernando FC, Atlético San Fernando and CD Arsenal. During the 60's, it became one of Andalusia's most important clubs.
After years of competing mainly in Tercera División - the club played in division two, but it was prior to the creation of the third - it was dissolved in 2009.[2] As with most clubs that disappear due to financial difficulties, a new club emerged from the ashes, being named San Fernando Club Deportivo; the new side's first match took place on 2 August 2009, against Sevilla Atlético at Bahía Sur, with the hosts winning 2–0.
