They will play 2008-09 in the "Segunda División ", and are thereserve team ofSevilla FC .Unlike in England, reserve teams in the Spain play in the same football pyramid as their senior team rather than a separate league. However, reserve teams cannot play in the same division as their senior team. Therefore, the team is ineligible for promotion to "
La Liga ", the division in which the A-team currently plays. Reserve teams are also no longer permitted to enter the Spanish Cup.History
Founded in 1958, Sevilla Atlético quickly became a "
Tercera División " contender, winning that league in 1960-61 and 1961-62, also spending one year, 1962-63, in the "Segunda División ". For three years in the early 1970s, the club was relegated to regional play below the third division, but returned to the "Tercera" in 1976.Since then, the club has split time between the "Tercera", which it won five times in the 1980s, and the "Segunda B". In 2007-08, the club returned to the second level, now known as "Liga BBVA".----
