Mollie Hunter

Maureen Mollie Hunter McIlwraith, more commonly known as Mollie Hunter (born 1922), is a Scottish writer. Born and bred near Edinburgh in the small village of Longniddry. She currently resides in Inverness.[1] Her debut was The Smartest Man in Ireland in 1963. She writes fantasy for children, historical stories for young adults and realistic novels for adults. She won the Carnegie Medal in 1974 for The Stronghold.[2] She also wrote the book A Stranger Came Ashore.
