- The Stivs
The Stivs was a
punk rock band on Boot to Head Records based out ofPortland, Oregon . Their releases included The Reaction, The Beat is Loose, TBIL Revisited, and Sweet Heartach and the Satisfaction. Similar to some of their major influences (The Ramones ,Murder City Devils , andThe Stooges ).History
Formed in the Fall of 2001, The Stivs rose from the ashes of
The Huntingtons ,The Deadlines , and Denote the Apex. Within five years, the band played over 300 shows, sharing the stage with bands such asZeke ,The Black Halos , andPunk Rock Karaoke while still making time to record three incredible releases: The Reaction (previous name of the band), The Beat is Loose, and Sweet Heartache and the Satisfaction. They also enjoyed regular circulation on several radio stations, filmed two music videos, and were featured onThe Price is Right .In 2005 their aggressive sound, trademark vitality and swagger, and incredible live show eventually caught the attention of legendary producer
Jack Endino (Nirvana,Soundgarden ,Murder City Devils , etc.) who personally took on recording The Stivs’ Sweet Heartache and The Satisfaction, their most recent release, on Boot to Head Records. Sweet Heartache has everything a rock album should have on it: driving guitars, inventive hooks, and classic rock n' roll glory as only The Stivs can provide. In 2006, The Stivs disbanded shortly after appearance on local television show, Milwaukee's Best Music.
