Fame Story

Fame Story

Fame Story is a Greek reality TV show that is a licensed version of Endemol's Star Academy. The teachers in the "academy" are all respected individuals with long careers in music as are the judges. The songs are performed weekly in a 2½–3 hour episode in which the contestants are judged. One contestant is voted off based on the number of votes received via phone/text messages. The other 6 days of the week, the best clips of the day are put together in a nightly episode. Most seasons ran for 3½ months except for season three which ran for 6½ months. It appears on the ANT1 network and it has been one of the most successful Greek TV shows over the last years. It is credited for having helped boost the career of many artists that currently dominate the Greek music charts.

ANT1 network will be premiering X Factor in its Fall 2008 lineup, switching from Endemol's Star Academy franchise format in favor of competitor FremantleMedia's X Factor franchise.
