KJJZ is a 2.6kw Class A commercial smooth jazz radio station licensed in Indio, California with studios in Palm Springs and which serves the greater Coachella Valley on 102.3 FM.

The station, one of the first smooth jazz stations in the country, aired in 1996. The frequency was allocated less than three years before to KLCX Palm Desert, the area's first classic rock station. Though KLCX began as one of the most ambitious broadcasting projects to come to the Coachella Valley in years, the station soon fell on hard times. Financial troubles forced the sale of KLCX, its license and studio equipment to RM Broadcasting, owners of KPLM Palm Springs. The equipment was moved to KPLM's Palm Springs studios.

RM Broadcasting hired smooth jazz concert promoter Jim "Fitz" Fitzgerald as an independent contractor to head KJJZ as its program director and morning drive personality, positions he holds to this day.

Like sister station KPLM, KJJZ is extremely active in bringing top name talent to the area for concert performances. Most are booked through the company run by Fitzgerald and his wife Wendy, namely Wendy Jayne Productions. Fitzgerald also sponsors "Fitz's Jazz Café," an ongoing series of small concert venues featuring name artists such as Michael McDonald; other featured artists include Chris Botti and Kyle Eastwood.

As of November 2006, both KJJZ and KPLM stream real-time audio via the internet.
