Sir James Morse Carmichael, 3rd Baronet (20 July 1844 – 31 May 1902) was a Scottish politician.
The son of Sir James Carmichael, Bt and Louisa Charlotte Butler was educated in Radley College. In 1873, Carmichael was Private Secretary to John Bright, and from 1882 to 1885 to the Chancellor of the Exchequer Hugh Childers. Between 1885 and 1886, he was Private Secretary to the Prime Minister William Ewart Gladstone, and between 1892 and 1895 Member of Parliament (MP) for Glasgow St Rollox.
Having unsuccessfully claimed the dormant title Earl of Hyndford, Carmichael succeeded to his father's baronetcy on 11 June 1883. On the same day, he became the 26th Chief of the Name and Arms of Carmichael. He died aged 57 unmarried. With his death the baronetcy became extinct.
