Medal record Women's Athletics Competitor for Chile Olympic Games Silver 1956 Melbourne Javelin throw Pan American Games Gold 1959 Chicago Javelin throw Gold 1963 São Paulo Javelin throw Marlene Ahrens Ostertag (born in Concepción, July 27, 1933) is a female Chilean athlete.[1] She won the silver medal in Javelin throw at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne with a distance of 50.38 metres. She remains the only Chilean woman to have won an Olympic medal.[2] She is the mother of the journalist Karin Ebensperger.
