Long Island Rail Road 'sMontauk Branch located in the St. Albans neighborhood in theNew York City borough ofQueens . It is located atLinden Boulevard and Montauk Place (named for the railroad right-of-way). The station has an island platform bounded by a track in each direction. The station has had a recent renovation, including new lighting and new waiting benches. The platform can hold only the front most six cars on a train. There is a secondary exit at the south end leading to the midblock of Montauk Place.ervice
While the station is listed on timetables and maps as being served by
West Hempstead Branch trains, the majority of service from the station is provided byBabylon Branch trains. West Hempstead Branch trains only serve the station on weekday mornings (which are westbound trains), while Babylon Branch trains serve it daily from around 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM on a bihourly basis during off peak periods. The station sees no late night service.The station is located within Zone 3 and is within the boundaries of the
CityTicket program.History
Saint Albans Station was built on
July 1 ,1898 , then razed in 1935 as part of a grade elimination project. The current elevated structure was opened either onOctober 22 , orOctober 23 ,1935 .
