August 8 ,1950 ) is an American drummer.Hall was born in
Memphis, Tennessee . He is the father ofrapper Gangsta Pat .A protégé of
Booker T. & the MGs drummerAl Jackson, Jr. , Hall played with bothThe Bar-Kays andIsaac Hayes 's bandThe Movement . In the seventies, he backed dozens of major Stax artists on recordings, includingIsaac Hayes ' "Hot Buttered Soul " (1969) and "Theme from Shaft " (1971) albums, and on severalAlbert King albums.He recorded one album (1977's "Universal Language") with
Booker T. & the MGs after Al Jackson's murder, and later joined guitaristSteve Cropper and bass playerDonald "Duck" Dunn as a member ofThe Blues Brothers Band , which subsequently led to his appearance in the hit movie The Blues Brothers, introduced as Willie "Too-Big" Hall, and its sequel.Hall is currently a member of
