Criticism

Nvidia has been slow to respond to user's concerns with the Nforce 4 chipset which this laptop utilizes by not releasing drivers yet. The drivers for the Nvidia's Geforce graphics card series also do not support the mobile version of the 6000 or 7000 series GPU this laptop comes with.[citation needed]

The DV9000z and the DV6000z has suffered from a series of defects which has caused HP to offer an enhanced service agreement which extends the original warranty 24 months from the original purchase date for specific failures, namely the failure of the chipset and soldered joints on the mainboard due to excess heat, causing it not to detect the wireless network card and/or the LCD screen and may cause charging issues as well. HP has issued a BIOS update which will run the fan more frequently to keep the notebook cooler and prevent damage to the mainboard. HP will replace the mainboard at no cost, however many users report repeat problems.

Online customer services

The certain free after-sale services for the equipment can be found at the HP's website, which include the manual download, troublethooting, ongoing firmware and software updates and FAQs etc.[1]

Reception

The academic testing report of the product series has been offered by the Proceedings of the 11th IEEE, and there are various market/user reviews available online as well [2], [3], [4], [5]
