Konami . It is a spinoff of "Snatcher " which tells an alternate version of the same story. Like the MSX2 version of "Snatcher", the game was released on three floppy disks and a proprietary sound cartridge.Gameplay
As the game's title indicates, the character designs are rendered in the "
super deformed " style with child-like small bodies and big heads, instead of the realistic style used in the original "Snatcher". As with most RPGs of the time, the game is comprised of overhead exploration of areas and menu-driven turn-based combat scenes. The combat system uses a first-person perspective that allows the player to aim at specific body parts of an enemy and disable certain characteristics. For example: shooting a robot's wheel will render the robot immobile, making him less likely to avoid the player's gunfire. As with other RPGs, the player can upgrade their gun and purchase auxiliary items that can be used in battle to help the player out.Plot
"SD Snatcher" is notable for being the first version of "Snatcher", to include the missing "Act 3" ending from the original PC-88/MSX2 versions that was added in the later
CD-ROM versions, although there are several differences due to changes made in the story.External links
