Ashdown House is an all-boarding mixed preparatory school in Forest Row, East Sussex. There are 169 pupils aged 7 to 13, 110 boys, 59 girls. Ashdown House was originally an 18th century country house, completed in 1794 by Benjamin Latrobe who was one of the architects of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington DC.
Billy williamson was the headmaster from 1949 to 1974, succeeded by Clive Williams.
Famous Old Ashdownians (OA's) include Damian Lewis, Boris Johnson, Thomas P G Cholmondeley and Charlie Cox.
