K. L. N. College of Engineering

K.L.N. College of Engineering is one of the top five self finance engineering colleges in [South tamilnadu] . It is situated on the southeastern outskirts of Madurai and built in an area of 53.8 acres with multistoreyed buildings.It is the first self-financing co-educational Engineering College in Madurai, started in 1994 by munificence of philanthropist and well wishers in Sourashtra community which is a linguistic minority in Tamil Nadu. Shri. K.L.N. Krishnan was the Founder President. This college has the approval of All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.

Location

This college is situated on the outskirts of Madurai, 11 km along Madurai-Nedungulam road. It is built in an area of 53.8 acres.

Infrastructure

The campus has multistoried buildings consisting of well provided class rooms, drawing halls, seminar halls, library, air-conditioned computer centres, staff rooms and student rest rooms. The infrastructure also consists of six double storied laboratory buildings and three single storied workshop and machine shop. The M.B.A. & M.C.A. departments are functioning in a separate, spacious, three-storied Post Graduate block of convert|40000|sqft|m2|abbr=on. Well furnished men's hostel, mess block, canteen block are also inside the campus. Separate hostel for women students is provided. Post Office, PCO with STD facility and Medical facilities are also provided. Transport facility is available.

Campus and facilities

Computer Center

Computing centre is constructed in a area of 480 square meter and fully air conditioned. This centre is being used by all students both B.E., M.B.A., M.C.A. This centre is open between 8.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M. on all working days.The computer centre is having four file servers and 100 nodes connected to it. The file server is equipped with Novell Netware 3.11 and we have all the common softwares and also many of the latest softwares and packages.

Library

Fully Air-Conditioned Computerized library facility, Separate T.V and V.C.R facilities, OHP are available, students can avail the facility for gaining their knowledge.The UG library has been provided with an Electronic resource section, which would benefit the students for Browsing the internet. A well furnished conference –cum-Seminar Hall is the hall mark of UG library that includes power-point facility and ultra modern audio-visual kits with an LCD projector.

Sports and Keeping Fit

The college has totally 53.8 acres of land for outdoor games and an Indoor stadium, with the gymnasium under contemplation. Out of 53.8 acres, 10 acres of land has been cleaned off and levelled. A standard football field has been formed.This encouraging performance in sports and games by our students is due to the interest shown by the management in providing the required facilities.The department of physical education strives to bring out young men & women with sound physique and mental ability for service to the nation.

College Automation

The College has implemented College Automation through a mini ERP by name EDUCATION 2001 developed jointly by M/s. Aarvee Information Systems Ltd., and K.L.N. Infotech, Madurai. This package incorporates all the modules required to automate data flow for any type of educational institute.
