Sir Francis Kinloch of Gilmerton, 3rd Baronet, (
June 23 ,1676 -March 2 ,1747 ) is a scion of a noble family whose ancestry is displayed in "The Plantagenet Roll of the Blood Royal". Their seat was the very splendid and still extant Gilmerton House, about a mile east-north-east ofAthelstaneford , although the 4th baronet lived all his adult life inSwitzerland .The son and heir of
Sir Francis Kinloch, 2nd Baronet , of Gilmerton, by his spouse Mary, daughter ofDavid Leslie, 1st Lord Newark , he succeeded his father in 1699, and married circa 1705, Mary (d. April 2, 1749,Gilmerton House,Haddingtonshire ), daughter and co-heiress of Sir James Rocheid, Baronet, of Inverleith (d. after 1704). They had issue: three sons and three daughters.* Sir James Kinloch, 4th Bt., of Gilmerton (1705 - 1778).
