David N. Weisstub is the Philippe Pinel professor of legal psychiatry and biomedical ethics at the Université de Montréal. He is the honorary life president of the International Academy of Law and Mental Health,[1] and the editor-in-chief both of its International Journal of Law and Psychiatry[2] and of Springer's International Library on Ethics Law and the New Medicine[3] He sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Ethics in Mental Health.[3] He has been made both a Chevalier of the Légion d'honneur and a Knight of the Order of the Dutch Lion.[3]
Personal
In 1968, Weisstub married artist Lola Rosamund Rasminsky, daughter of the then governor of the Bank of Canada Louis Rasminsky. They had sons Jonathan and Jeremy.
Career
A graduate of Yale Law School, Weisstub taught at York University's Osgoode Hall Law School for over twenty years prior to moving to UdeM in 1993.[3]
